Lot of 5 GLASS NEGATIVES Photography, 1896-1900 Moyca Newell (?) Wisconsin
Glass Negative Photographs
This Lot has 4 full Glass Negatives, with 1 broken. Glass plates were in use from the 1850s through the 1920s and were popular with both amateur and professional photographers. Negative images oh photographs were printed on glass and were an important step for the full photographic product.
2 of these Photographs have the name "Moyca Newell" on the envelopes. It's possible that the woman in some of these photographs was one of the founders of the New York State Constabulary in 1912.
Photographs include 2 pictures of a woman (presumably Moyca Newell) from 1896, A beautiful home from 1897, A wash day on a farm from 1900, and a broken piece showing some automobiles.
Each Photograph (save the broken one) is approx 7" x 5"
Includes envelopes for protection with dates and names.
These photographs are overall in good condition. There's some chipping on some of the images, especially around the corners where wearing seems to be the heaviest. The photograph that has broken is incomplete and missing pieces, but the other images are all in tact, as shown in pictures. The envelopes have some wearing and aging.
The pictures that are provided are for your convenience and are of the exact item being sold.
Please examine all of the available pictures well before making any purchases.
Please ask any questions before purchase. Thanks!
