Fire Engine Co. No. 3 Model No. 0004 Lake Tahoe, NEVADA-HO Gauge Muir Model Co.
"We found this building, together with the Cattlemen's Bank, (Model 0003) on the set of the Bonanza TV series at the Northern end of Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The ranch is open to the public and is well worth a visit. It is a two engine house that can be used either with horse drawn equipment or the old volunteer style equipment that was manpowered. The building is in mint condition and freshly painted. You may weather it if you wish but we like it as a bright spot on our layout. The color scheme is a bright red with white trim. We could not find a red that suited us in regular railroad colors so we used an artists color - Liquitex Cadmium Red Medium. The one drawback to this, which is a water color, is that it is inclined to warp the siding. This can be easily overcome by weighting it overnite after it is dry. We used Floquils 'foundation' on the floor. While the building is two stories high there is no second floor, the extra height presumably being used for hose drying racks."
Bill Of Materials:
4 pcs. walls
3 pcs. door seperators
4 pcs. bell tower walls
1 pc. false front
2 semicircles door overhead decorations
1 pc. door
1 pc. door plastic
1 pc. window
1 pc. roof
1 pc. bell
1 sign
1 pc. floor
4 pcs. bell tower roof
shingles
1 acetate for window
Condition: Not sure if it has all the pieces, but it looks like it probably does. Some of the pieces are still sealed up in plastic. Looks like there are about 34 pieces total. I don't think its been used before, but not positive.
